Case Study #7:     Restaurant Wine List

Horizons and Cottages is a beautiful Relais & Chateau Hotel in Bermuda. The restaurant serves not only excellent food but their extensive wine list has been honoured by the Wine Spectator as being one of the finest anywhere. Although the numbers of wines listed is not excessive, they do have some three hundred wines, making search through the hard copy of the list difficult and time consuming.

The Arembis search technology, as enabled in the Wine List Application, is particularly valuable for banquet or convention managers who may ask their corporate clients, when planning a dinner, to view the same web-page simultaneously from any remote region in the world. Their private clients can review the Wine List in the comfort of their rooms before dinner and make their selections in advance — with or without advice from the sommelier.

There is a built-in feature that enables the linking of each wine listed to the winery’s web-site, for in-depth client info and for valuable in-house education, and to a ‘notes’ pop-up with the restaurant’s own text describing each wine.
